Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if Chinese medicine will work for me?

The best way to determine if Four Corners Chinese Medicine is right for you is to schedule a new patient consultation. Call the office at +1-(970) 382-0321 or email to schedule this visit. Once scheduled, you will receive paperwork to fill out and return to us before your visit. During your consultation, David will learn more about your unique health profile and goals for treatment. Specific exams are done to analyze body function, determine Chinese medical diagnosis, and make recommendations for care. Treatment plans, if appropriate, are customized to every individual, regardless of prior diagnosis and treatment.

Does my insurance cover your services?

As insurance companies are currently unable to provide coverage to effectively fix health problems, we are out of network with all health insurance plans. Superbills are available by request. The good news is that you have the power to select the care you need to get the results you want. We work with you to come up with a personalized care plan and a financial arrangement that works for you.

What are your office hours?

Monday - Friday

8:30 am - 1:00pm

Where is your office located?

We are conveniently located north of downtown Durango, CO., just off Florida Rd. at 2530 Colorado Avenue, Suite 2A, Durango, CO 81301. There is a large solar display on the roof. There is plenty of free parking and the office is ADA compliant with wheelchair accessibility.

Do any treatments interfere with my prescirption medications?

Generally speaking, herbs and pharmaceutical drugs function in the body in different ways. We have found that Chinese Herbal Medicine combines very well with prescription medication with very few herb drug interactions. There are specific herbs and drugs that should not be used together. These are well known to the herbalist at Four Corners Chinese Medicine. Patients ask about using acupuncture while on blood thinners and an increased risk for bleeding. While some bruising may occur with any needle insertions, we find that this is not a probelm in the clinic. These are perfectly safe to use together.

Does acupuncture hurt?

No, its very comfortable to receive acupuncture. Most people take a daytime nap during treatment and leave feeling relaxed and refreshed.
